Scholastic Book Safari
November 19th - 25th,
9:00 am to 5pm every day
November 26th, 9:00 am to 2pm
Sales from this event will
go towards providing educational materials to
our school programs, teachers and students.
Check out quality books and products from
Scholastics, Inc. and promote literacy in our
community.
In November, students will
go home with a book list, sampling a few of the
titles that will be sold. If you would like to

Volunteers Need!
If you would like to volunteer, please contact
Jeni Berry. We need assistance with book fair
set-up, cashier, cash count, classroom visit
assistance, inventory pick-up and book fair
take-down.

Innisbrook
catalog orders are in!
Orders can be picked up this Friday, November
14th at Glacier Park Elementary School. Please
pick up your orders between 3:40 pm and 7:00
pm.
If you are unable to pick up your orders at this
time, you will be notified via telephone, where
you can pick up your order, next week.

Recycle Contest
How does $50 sound?
You can help your classroom earn $50 to spend on
a classroom party, new books, science
supplies...
All you need to do is save all your old:
Video game consoles (with all the
accesories)
Video games (including case)
Empty inkjet cartridges
Empty laser cartridges
Used cell phones
Digital cameras
Laptops (including power cords)
PDA's/Palm Pilots (including
accessories)
IPods (including all accessories)
DVD Movies (including original
packaging) |
Bring these items to school by October 31st and
whicever classroom has the most recyclable items
will receive $50 to spend however they like.

Reflections
Program
Calling all
Glacier Park students kindergarten
through fifth grade!
The
Reflections Program is your chance
to show off your talents. This
years theme is "Wow".
The deadline for submitting your
work is November 24th.

GRR is back!
Glacier's
River to Reading is back for another
school year. Read 10 minutes a day
for grades K-2, and 20 minutes a day
for grades 3-5 for at least 20 days
in a month. Record the time on the
GRR Log sheet to receive monthly
prizes. Participate in 6 months out
of the school year and become
eligible for the end of the year GRR
party!

There are new 2008-2009 PTSA volunteer
opportunities available!
There are many new
volunteer opportunities available, from
one-time events to ongoing activities. There
are both daytime and evening opportunities
and things you can do at home.
Volunteers are what make the
many wonderful programs and activities that
benefit ALL of the children at Glacier Park
Elementary possible!

GPES
Receives Award!
Great news! Have you heard?
Washington State PTA recognized
Glacier Park Elementary with an
achievement
award. We
are at Level
1-BRONZE, which means 50% of the
previous years membership enrolled
by September 30th. We thank all of
our families, teachers, and staff
for allowing this to happen. We
appreciate all your support.
