Glacier
Park Elementary is one of four elementary schools in the Tahoma
School District of Western Washington. We are located in Maple
Valley, Washington, nestled in the foothills of the Cascade
Mountain range with Mt. Rainer looming beautifully in the
background.
The intent of this website is to be a useful communications tool
for all parents, students, and staff at Glacier Park
Elementary. With the active participation of everyone in the
community we can collectively make a real difference in the
education of our children. Explore our site and make a decision

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school
year!

We have a PTSA Executive Board
ready to work for your children. We can’t do it without you
though. We need you! Not only do we need
you to volunteer but we need you to become
a member of our great team. By becoming a member of the GPES
PTSA you are demonstrating to your children and our teachers
that you place a lot of importance on education and their
wellbeing. You will be joining a community that encourages
student achievement and enriches our children’s learning
environment. It also gives your child a voice. We invite all
members to attend PTSA meetings to participate in making
decisions that affect your child. It is important to make sure
your voice is heard and your vote is counted.
We encourage you to participate
and support your child in any way possible. No matter what
your talents, interests, or time availability is there is a
place for you in the GPES PTSA. There is a first time for
everything. If you’re not sure where to start…just ask!
Check out our website to learn
more about our committees, activities, and goals for supporting
our students, teachers and the community. The GPES PTSA
provides many avenues for your child to excel. Last year the
PTSA supported: School Spirit, Pacific Science Center Program,
One World Assembly, Razz Kids, Books, Music Enrichment, Drama
Productions, Birthday Books, Camp Casey, Teacher Grants, Art
Docents, Reflections, Art for Education, many Field Trips,
Carnival, Spaghetti Feed, Skating, Community Events, and much
more…
Join us on Thursday, September
22nd for the GPES PTSA General meeting. Sign in
and refreshments begin at 6:00 PM and the meeting begins at 6:30
PM. After the meeting there will be an opportunity for you to
complete Volunteer Training for the school district. Free
Childcare will be provided during the training. We hope to see
you there!
Feel Free to contact us if you
have any questions, comments, or ideas.

THANK YOU SAFEWAY!
Glacier Park Elementary School PTSA wants to recognize
what Maple Valley Safeway contributions have done not
only for our school community but the community at
large. GPES PTSA earned $6,430.57 in 2009-2010 on the Safeway eScrip Program.
Glacier
Park Elementary
School’s parents, teachers and
students recognize the positive impact their support has
on our community. Thanks to Safeway, our PTSA has been
able to enrich our children’s education with supplies
for our Art Docent program, transportation to field
trips, attendance to Camp
Casey, funding for our performing arts
and
Pacific Science
Center assemblies. Without
Safeway's participation, these programs would have
possibly ceased to exist. Thank you Safeway!
Thank you again for
supporting youth education!
Sincerely,
Kellie Carney
