Glacier Park
Elementary is one of four elementary schools in the Tahoma
School District of Western Washington. We are located in Maple
Valley, Washington, nestled in the foothills of the Cascade
Mountain range with Mt. Rainer looming beautifully in the
background.
The intent of this website is to be a useful communications tool
for all parents, students, and staff at Glacier Park
Elementary. With the active participation of everyone in the
community we can collectively make a real difference in the
education of our children. Explore our site and make a decision
today to become actively involved.

Glacier Park PTSA
would like to thank
Maple Valley
Safeway for
their participation in the eScrip program. During 2008 Glacier
Park PTSA earned over $7,000 in contributions from this program!
The Safeway eScrip program is a fantastic program where schools
can earn money from purchases families are already making at
their local Safeway. Over 400 Glacier
Park
families have registered their Safeway Club Card numbers and now
every time they shop a percentage of what they spend is coming
back to Glacier
Park.
The money that is generated from this program has gone to many
different PTSA programs including transportation for field
trips, Camp
Casey, and new technology in
the classroom.
Thank you Safeway for continuing to fund this program even as
the economy has slumped. We VERY much appreciate your commitment
to education even when (especially when) economic times are
hard. We appreciate your support and look forward to continuing
our partnership with you to fund youth education!

Carnival
A very special thank
you to all the volunteers that helped in
turning the Glacier Park Carnival into a
wonderful success. We wouldn't be able to
sponsor such a fun event without all your help.

Spring Fundraiser a Success!
Our PTSA fundraiser held during the Celebration
of Learning event was a resounding success! We
are so thankful to have such wonderful families,
teachers and staff in our school and we
recognize that this event could not have
happened without your hard work and support.
Our amazing results:
$1500 in spaghetti sold!
$6800 in raffle tickets sold!
$4200 raised during our first ever silent
auction!

All you need to do is save all your old:
Video game consoles (with all the
accesories)
Video games (including case)
Empty inkjet cartridges
Empty laser cartridges
Used cell phones
Digital cameras
Laptops (including power cords)
PDA's/Palm Pilots (including
accessories)
IPods (including all accessories)
DVD Movies (including original
packaging) |
This is a great way to earn money for our
school. Have your child bring these items to
school and drop them off. |

GRR
Reading Program
Glacier's
River to Reading is back for another
school year. Read 10 minutes a day
for grades K-2, and 20 minutes a day
for grades 3-5 for at least 20 days
in a month. Record the time on the
GRR Log sheet to receive monthly
prizes. Participate in 6 months out
of the school year and become
eligible for the end of the year GRR
party!
